therapy for transforming relationships - for letting go of relationships - for defining relationships - for deepening relationships - for grieving relationships - for beginning new relationships -
I work with couples, families, and individuals to navigate intense change in their relationships;
break-ups, engagement, separation, divorce, blending families, infertility, loss, and more.
Relationships have their own life cycles with critical junctures; painful, joyful, and often marked by uncertainty.
Together, we support you in navigating these changes with authenticity, clarity, and greater connection, you can forge new relational dynamics.
Therapy Offerings
-
Pre - Marital / Commitment
If you’re making a new commitment- getting married, moving in together, having children, or re-defining your relationship agreements in any way- it’s a great time to sit down together to define roles, values, and future goals. We’ll identify your strengths and points of conflict as a couple, developing skills for your next phase of life; show up early and prevent “last chance” or discernment counseling later.
-
Discernment
Discernment counseling is a structured process that helps couples on the brink of divorce gain clarity on how they want to proceed. As individuals and as a couple you’ll leave the short-term process having decided whether to remain in ambiguity for a little while longer, engage in couples therapy, or separate. Sometimes the best way off the fence is a gentle push.
-
Conscious Uncoupling
There are many reasons for wanting to end a relationship in a respectful and loving way; maybe you have children together, will stay in each others lives, or just want to honor your history and everything you’ve learned from each other. This kind of work can look more like mediation, with clear goals to set up parenting plans, housing situations, etc, and it can also look like grief work, repair work, and developing a shared story of how things ended.
-
Family
Family therapy can support all kinds of transitions; reconciliation, blending a family, processing the impact of divorce, and more. It’s an opportunity for deep listening, emotional connection, and making sure everyone’s okay as things change. It’s a courageous and caring act to show up for, and with everyone in the room the possibilities for change are immense.
-
Intensives
Want to sprint not marathon? Intensives provide a full weekend day of therapy, allowing for depth and swift change. This format is perfect for couples and families who are highly motivated to address their issues or are grappling with an immediate crisis or decision, and want to start the week with concrete tools for change (works well with pre-commitment therapy, discernment counseling, and conscious uncoupling).
-
Individual
The magic of individual therapy happens within the container of our relationship; we’ll grow an authentic connection in which we can explore the past and present with honesty and compassion. Experiencing loss, a break-up, a new relationship, or uncertainty about what you want are common motivators for going to therapy. With support, these experiences are opportunities for healing, and learning new ways of being in the world.
